We welcome back John and Bea Martel as our organizers for this year’s RCIA classes.   Classes will feature an array of speakers on various topics such as Personal Morality, Life Issues, Catholic Social Teaching, Church History, Liturgy, Sacraments, Prayer, and the Papacy. RCIA is a formal process whereby those who are unbaptized, are assisted in joining the Catholic Church by receiving what is called the Sacraments of Initiation.  The sacraments of initiation are made up of three sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation and the Holy Eucharist. As adults, all three Sacraments are received at the same time, and this usually occurs during Easter time. Once all three Sacraments have been received, a person is then a fully participating member of the Catholic Church.  Those already baptized make a profession of faith in the Catholic Church, are confirmed, and receive the Eucharist. Becoming a Catholic is a big step; it is literally a life changing experience, and one which shouldn't be entered into lightly. Like any family, it is always exciting and a great privilege to have new members arriving into our parish family, thus there is no doubt that you are welcomed, loved, and prayed for by our congregation. In addition to educating those interested in joining the faith, RCIA classes are open to everyone seeking greater knowledge of the Catholic faith,  parish members who seek to know the faith in a deeper way are always welcome.

Please call the rectory to sign up for RCIA classes or enroll on Wednesday, September 3, 7:00 in the St. Mary’s Elementary Music Room.
